Cashmere is a special type of wool that comes from the undercoats of cashmere goats. Only the finest and softest fiber from these goats can be considered cashmere.

It takes about four to five adult-sized goats to produce enough fiber for one 100% cashmere sweater.

Sweater pilling is natural and is caused by friction. Follow the cashmere care steps below to properly care for your sweaters.

You can handwash cashmere sweaters with shampoo, which will actually make them softer over time. We recommend using baby shampoo.

Always fold your cashmere and store it in a cool, dark, and dry place with cedar mothballs or chips. Hanging your cashmere for a long time can change its shape.

Easy 4-Steps Cashmere Care:

Step 1 - Before You Wash: Remove pilling with a pilling comb, sweater stone, or other depiller to brush away those fluffballs.

Step 2 - Wash By Hand: Use a gentle soap or shampoo in lukewarm water. Gently massage the cashmere garment and create suds.

Step 3 - Suds It Up: Dunk the cashmere garment in lukewarm soapy water and let it soak for 30 minutes. Rinse with clean water and gently squeeze out the excess water.

Step 4 - Lay Flat To Dry: Place the cashmere on a clean, dry, white towel and lay it flat in its original shape. Roll up the garment and towel together to remove excess water. Lay it flat to finish drying.
